TYRES

  • Compound: Slick Soft
  • Front: 21.5 PSI cold (targets ~27°C optimum window, settles ~26–27 PSI hot)
  • Rear: 21.5 PSI cold (settles ~26–27 PSI hot)
  • Optimal operating temperature: 80–90°C (peak grip window for slicks; qualifying lap should be launched once tyres cross ~70°C minimum)
  • No blankets assumption — if session allows blankets, set to 80°C front/rear to hit optimum immediately.

ELECTRONICS

  • TC: 2
  • ABS: 3
  • Engine Map: Qualifying/Power map (highest aggression map available)
  • Brake Bias: 54.5% front (in-cockpit adjustable, shift 1–2% rearward if front locking on chicane entry)

AERO

  • Front Splitter: 1 (minimum)
  • Rear Wing: 2 (low downforce, minimum drag for top speed)
  • Brake Ducts: Front 1 / Rear 1 (single lap, no thermal concern)

KEY SETUP NOTE

  • Monza rewards minimum-drag setup above all else — the straights and Parabolica exit dominate lap time far more than mid-corner grip, so run the lowest wing/splitter you can control through Ascari and Parabolica; the 488's early turbo torque means diff power lock (0.6) and preload matter more for exit traction than outright rear downforce.

TRACK GUIDE

  • Variante del Rettifilo: brake as late as physically possible from 330+ km/h, trail brake to rotate the nose over the first kerb — carrying too much speed causes a wide exit and ruins the run to Curva Grande.
  • Curva Grande: taken essentially flat in 6th with a tiny lift; trust the low-drag rear wing setup, stay smooth on the wheel to avoid unsettling the rear at max lateral load.
  • Roggia chicane: brake hard in a straight line, use the high curbs aggressively on entry and exit — the stiffer front ARB keeps the platform flat for confident rotation.
  • Lesmo 1/2: sacrifice a tenth of rotation on Lesmo 1 entry to protect exit speed on Lesmo 2 — this feeds the long back straight, so exit traction (diff power 0.6) is worth more than entry speed.
  • Ascari chicane: stay flat and committed over the kerbs — soft-ish fast bump damping absorbs the compressions; a stable platform here is worth more than outright grip since it's flat-out in top gear on entry.
  • Parabolica: this is THE lap-time corner — late apex, progressive throttle application
