KEY SETUP NOTE

  • Portimão's blind crests (Turn 1 approach, Turn 8) unload the car mid-corner — run slightly stiffer rear ARB and higher rear ride height than a flat track to prevent sudden oversteer snap when the chassis goes light over the crest at max attack.

TRACK GUIDE

  • Turn 1: approach is uphill blind — brake earlier than visual instinct suggests, car goes light right at turn-in; commit to apex once sighted, don't lift mid-corner.
  • Turns 5-6 (esses): carry min speed high, use kerbs aggressively on exit of 5 to set up 6, weight transfer through this section defines the lap.
  • Turn 8 (Curva do Boavista): downhill blind crest under braking — trail-brake lightly past the crest, full commitment costs the lap if you lock up over the blind rise.
  • Turn 15 (final corner): exit traction is critical for the front straight — sacrifice a fraction of entry speed for a clean, full-throttle exit; diff power setting directly affects this.
  • Biggest time gain: minimizing lift/coast through the Turns 5-8 elevation-change sequence — smooth inputs here beat outright bravery.
