Genera Tu Propia Variante
// Hot Lap · Dry

TYRES

  • Bias-ply spec tyre, Front: 15.0 PSI cold, Rear: 15.5 PSI cold. Optimal operating temp: 70–85°C for peak grip — this compound loses grip sharply above 95°C, so single hot-lap use favors slightly lower starting pressures to land in-window only briefly.

ELECTRONICS

  • TC: N/A (none fitted)
  • ABS: N/A (none fitted)
  • Engine Braking: N/A (fixed, no adjustment)
  • Brake Bias: F 59% / R 41%

SUSPENSION

  • // FRONT
  • Spring Perch Offset: 2.0 turns (lower front for reduced rake, sharper turn-in at Island and stable high-speed platform through Cascades)
  • ARB Diameter: 19.05mm (3/4 in, stiffest — maximizes front roll resistance to control weight transfer into Cascades and Old Hall)
  • // REAR
  • Spring Perch Offset: 3.5 turns
  • Pushrod Offset: 3.0 turns (slightly raises rear to add stability and reduce swing-axle jacking under load through Cascades and Knickerbrook)

KEY SETUP NOTE

  • The swing-axle rear has zero inherent roll stiffness, so all anti-squat/anti-jack behavior comes from rear ride height (Spring Perch + Pushrod Offset) — running the rear slightly higher than baseline tames the classic FVee rear-end snap on fast direction changes (Cascades, Knickerbrook) at the cost of a little rotation, which is an acceptable trade for a stable one-lap attack.

TRACK GUIDE

  • Cascades (T1): Blind, downhill, committed — brake in a straight line before turn-in, trust the stiff front ARB to hold the line; any lift mid-corner unsettles the swing axle rear violently.
  • Shell Oils hairpin (T3): Brake hard, rotate early, get the car pointed before full throttle — swing axle rear will squat and step out if you apply power while still turning.
  • Island hairpin (T5): Front turn-in is critical — trail-brake slightly deeper than feels natural since the lowered front perch offset sharpens response here.
  • Knickerbrook (T7): Commit through the S-flat in one motion — the raised rear height keeps the car planted over the crest; lifting here costs more than it saves.
  • Druids/Fosters (T9/T12): Both are traction-limited exits feeding straights — unwind the wheel early and get the throttle down progressively; swing-axle wheel-hop punishes aggressive full-throttle stab.

THEORETICAL BEST LAP

  • 1:35.800 — theoretical optimal sector composite, dry track, low fuel, single-lap qualifying simulation, no traffic.

REAL WORLD RECORD

  • No official record (Formula Vee does not race at Oulton Park International in a documented modern record capacity — historic UK Formula Vee events exist but no verified official outright record available).

SIM RACING RECORD

  • 1:36.4xx — iRacing Formula Vee Classic community hotlap best estimate, dry/optimal conditions, official iRacing time trial leaderboard range.
