KEY SETUP NOTE

• Portimão's blind crests (Turns 1, 8, and the run to the final corner) unload the 499P's underfloor and front splitter violently — run ride heights slightly higher than your race setup to avoid a sudden aero stall mid-corner that will snap the rear on a quali lap with cold-ish tyres.

TRACK GUIDE

• Turn 1: brake late on the approach to the blind crest, trail brake over the top — the car goes light here, so don't add steering input until you feel it land.
• Turns 5-7 (uphill esses): carry min speed higher through here than feels natural; the 499P's hybrid torque-fill out of Turn 5 rewards early, progressive throttle over outright rotation.
• Turn 8 (Curva do Boi): one of the biggest blind crests in sim racing — commit fully, trust the aero platform, late apex to protect exit onto the back straight.
• Turn 14 (final corner, Luffield-style downhill hairpin): this is where qualifying laps are won — late, aggressive trail-brake, rotate hard with the diff coast setting to point the car for max exit speed onto the front straight.
• Use full hybrid deploy from every slow-to-fast transition (T1 exit, T8 exit, final corner exit) — on a single lap, SOC management is irrelevant, deploy everything.
