The reference lap's hot pressures (16.8/17.1/16.3/16.4) came off a 24°C track — with a single flying lap in unknown/likely cooler dry conditions, starting cold pressures slightly higher ensures the tyre reaches window within 1–2 laps rather than staying under-pressured. No blankets assumed — first lap is a warm-up lap, so don't go below these values or the tyre will never switch on.

KEY SETUP NOTE

• This car's low-fuel, qualifying-spec ride height must still survive Tamburello's kerbs and the Acque Minerali compression without bottoming — running it too low chases a tenth in high-speed stability but costs more through the dip where the floor can stall; 30/45mm is the sweet spot for a 2005 F1 floor at this track.

TRACK GUIDE

• Tamburello (T1): committed flat-out or lift-and-place over the kerb — any mid-corner lift unsettles the rear on exit onto the straight toward Villeneuve.
• Tosa (T5): the biggest time gain on the lap — brake deep, rotate hard on entry, get the car pointed early so full power can be applied from the apex for the long run to Piratella.
• Piratella (T8): trail-brake into the uphill right, keep the front planted; the car pitches forward then needs stable rear grip as the track crests — don't release the brake too early.
• Acque Minerali (T9/10): respect the compression — carry speed in but be ready for the car to go light; a bouncy entry here costs the whole chicane.
• Rivazza 1&2 (T16/17) into Traguardo (T18): the lap is won here — sacrifice ultimate Rivazza exit speed slightly if needed to carry minimum speed, but never compromise the exit for a cleaner Traguardo; Rivazza exit onto the pit straight is the biggest ROI corner on the lap.
