KEY SETUP NOTE

  • The RS5 DTM's front end needs slightly stiffer front ARB and higher front pressure than baseline to resist push through the Schumacher-S direction changes, while the softer rear diff coast setting keeps the rear planted on trail-braking into Turn 1 — this balance is critical because overheating the front-left under sustained aggressive rotation is the main tyre deg risk across a full race run.

TRACK GUIDE

  • Turn 1 (Yokohama-S): brake later than feels natural but trail off smoothly — the car rotates well with 54% bias; don't lock the front-left, it's your deg-critical tyre.
  • Schumacher-S (T3): commit to a stable mid-corner line; avoid mid-corrective inputs — the stiffer front ARB punishes sloppy entries but rewards confident, early-turn commitment.
  • Dunlop hairpin (T5) and Bit-Kurve (T11): these are your lap-time-defining traction zones — get the car rotated before apex and feed throttle progressively; too much power-diff lock will scrub exit speed.
  • Veedol chicane (T13): sacrifice nothing on entry speed here — carry momentum through flat-ish, it feeds the long back straight where DTM cars make up real time.
  • Ford-Kurve (T18) into stadium: last chance to defend/attack — aggressive but controlled throttle application matters more than outright entry speed since the final sector rewards traction over corner speed.
