TYRES

  • Slicks, Front 23.5 PSI, Rear 23.5 PSI (cold, targeting hot window). Optimal operating temperature: 85–95°C core for peak slick grip; qualifying lap acceptable spike to 100°C on rears exiting Parabolica/Lesmo 2. Blankets set to 80°C front/rear if available.

ELECTRONICS

  • TC: 2
  • ABS: 3
  • Engine Braking / Brake Magic: Medium-Low (2/5) — reduces rear instability under heavy Monza braking zones
  • Brake Bias: 54.5% front

SUSPENSION

  • // REAR
  • Ride Height: 60 mm

AERO

  • Front Splitter: 2 (min-low drag setting)
  • Rear Wing: 3 (out of available range — lowest viable for stability through Ascari/Parabolica without excessive drag on straights)
  • Downforce Level: Low — prioritize top speed down the two long straights
  • Brake Ducts: Front 3 / Rear 2 (minimal, single-lap heat not a concern but need initial bite into T1)

KEY SETUP NOTE

  • The Mercedes' long wheelbase and weight make it naturally stable under braking but lazy to rotate — at Monza this costs time in both chicanes and Lesmo 2; running slightly softer front ARB and higher front pressure bias than race setup sharpens initial turn-in for one hot lap without worrying about long-run tyre degradation.

TRACK GUIDE

  • T1/2 (Rettifilo): Brake as late as possible in a straight line, trail brake deep to rotate the car — the Mercedes' weight wants to push wide, so get rotation done before the apex, then ride the inside kerb hard on exit.
  • Curva Grande (T3): Taken near-flat in this car with low downforce setup — commit early, trust the rear stability, small lift only if the car feels loose on entry.
  • Variante della Roggia (T4/5): Similar to T1 but entry speed is higher; prioritize a stable platform over the kerbs — aggressive kerb riding is fine here given stiff dampers, but don't unsettle the rear before exit acceleration.
  • Lesmo 1 into Lesmo 2: Lesmo 1 needs strong front grip for rotation (carry slight trail brake); Lesmo 2 is where understeer bites — sacrifice a fraction of min-speed in Lesmo 1 to protect rear tyre exit grip feeding the back straight.
  • Ascari Chicane: Flat, stable ride over kerbs is critical — any excess vertical movement unsettles this heavy car; smooth inputs, let the chassis stay planted, exit speed matters less here than stability.
  • Parabolica: This is THE lap-time corner — late apex, progressive throttle application, maximize exit speed onto the longest straight; any understeer here costs 2-3 tenths minimum on the following straight.

  • Note: This is Assetto Corsa Kunos GT3 content framed with an LMU-style template — AC uses different internal units than LMU (N/mm springs convert to N/m here, damper clicks approximated as Ns/m equivalents). Values below are my expert estimation for race-aggressive Monza setup; treat as a strong starting baseline to fine-tune in practice, not a verified optimal.

TYRES

  • Slick (Dry), Front 26.5 PSI, Rear 26.0 PSI cold (targets ~27-28 PSI hot front, ~27.5-28.5 PSI hot rear). Optimal operating window for max grip: 85–95°C core temp. Blanket temp (if used): 80°C.

ELECTRONICS

  • TC: 3 (aggressive, allows rotation on throttle)
  • ABS: 4 (strong late-braking support into chicanes)
  • Engine Braking / Brake Migration: Medium-high (5/6) to aid rotation on trail-brake
  • Brake Bias: 54.5% front (base, adjustable in-car)

SUSPENSION

AERO

  • Front Splitter: 2 (low-medium, minimize drag)
  • Rear Wing: 3/10 (low downforce for top speed on straights)
  • Brake Ducts: Front 4, Rear 3 (manage temps over race stint, heavy braking zones)

KEY SETUP NOTE

  • The Mercedes' weight and long wheelbase make it inherently stable but reluctant to rotate into Monza's chicanes — running slightly stiffer front ARB and lower front ride height than default sharpens initial turn-in, but you must protect rear tyre temps over a race stint since this car cooks its rears; slightly conservative rear camber and toe settings pay off lap 20 more than lap 2.

TRACK GUIDE

  • T1/2 (Rettifilo): Brake deep but in a straight line — this car's stability lets you trail-brake slightly, but lock-up risk is high on the heavy front-mid weight transfer; get on the kerbs flat, avoid unsettling the rear on exit.
  • T3 (Curva Grande): Taken near-flat in this car with current aero; small lift only if traffic — rear tyre temps spike here on long runs, manage via earlier, smoother throttle application.
  • T4/5 (Roggia): Similar braking character to T1 — late braking rewarded but don't overslow the entry; use the stability to out-brake rivals, rotate mid-corner rather than on entry.
  • Lesmo 1/2: Lesmo 1 needs commitment on entry (front grip critical) — Lesmo 2 is where understeer builds through a stint; don't force rotation with steering, let the diff and throttle timing do the work to protect rear tyres for exit onto the straight.
  • Ascari Chicane: Flat, stable ride over kerbs is key — this heavy car can get unsettled on the inside kerb; prioritize a clean, minimal-steering-input line over outright attack to preserve exit speed onto the straight.
  • Parabolica: The lap-time corner — late apex, patient throttle application exploiting the car's traction, carry speed onto the longest straight; small mid-corner understeer costs more here than anywhere else on track.
