KEY SETUP NOTE
- With a solid rear axle and asymmetric wedge-style cross weight tuning being the primary handling tool, lean on left-side weight bias (via ride height split) and stagger-like wheel rate asymmetry to force the car to rotate off the short straights without inducing snap oversteer under trail braking into Turns 1 and 3.
TRACK GUIDE
- Turn 1 entry is the biggest time gain zone: brake extremely late, trail off the pedal progressively while rotating the car early using the banking to carry speed through the middle.
- Iowa's high banking (10–12°) lets you carry significantly more min-speed than expected — commit to full throttle earlier than feels natural through Turns 2 and 4.
- Protect rear grip exiting Turns 2 and 4; the Mini Stock's low power means any wheelspin costs more than entry speed gained — prioritize a clean, early, straight exit.
- Use all of the apron/banking transition smoothly; dropping a wheel off the racing groove here kills momentum into the short chutes.
- Qualifying lap = one continuous rhythm — avoid any mid-corner correction since there's no second chance to recover lost momentum on this short 0.875-mile oval.
