Gran Turismo 7·Porsche 911 GT3 (992)·Watkins Glen·🔥 ホットラップ·☀️ ドライ
TYRES
Racing Hard (RH) compound, Front 27.5 PSI, Rear 27.0 PSI (hot target 27–30 PSI, qualifying launch on cold set acceptable for single lap). Optimal operating window for max grip: 85–95°C. No tyre blanket function in GT7 — complete one out-lap pushing laterally (weaving minimally, trail-braking zone T1–Esses) to bring tyres into window before the flying lap.

KEY SETUP NOTE
The 992 GT3's rear-engine polar inertia makes the Carousel-to-Back-Straight transition the lap's pivot point — run slightly more rear ride height (82mm) than instinct suggests to avoid snap oversteer on Carousel exit, because the resulting small straight-line stability loss is cheaper than a traction-limited exit onto the longest acceleration zone on track.
TRACK GUIDE
T1 (The 90): Brake late, straight-line, rotate on entry — carry min speed, exit wide to set up the Esses on the ideal line.
The Esses: Commit fully, minimal steering correction, let the stiffer rear ARB (6) hold the car flat; smoothness here is lap-time gold, don't fight small slides.
Carousel: Get the car banked early onto the inside, unwind steering progressively, prioritize throttle application over outright entry speed — this is the main traction zone.
Back Straight into T11: Heavy late braking, trail into the corner, rear stability under brakes is critical — don't trust 100% front bias, the 58/42 split prevents rear instability.
The Boot (T10/10A): Sacrifice nothing on entry speed into the final chicane — a tidy, low-steering-input line here preserves exit speed onto the Heel/Toe run to the line, where most quali laps are won or lost.
1:41.?? — No official unified record (varies wildly by GT3 ruleset/BoP/year; IMSA GTD 992 GT3 R pole laps at Glen ~1:42–1:43 range, e.g., 2023 IMSA event).
